Mayor-Elect Doyle Names Transition Team

Less than four weeks after his victory in the 2008 election, Beaverton Mayor-Elect Denny Doyle has named a transition team to assist him with planning and development on issues that were at the forefront of his campaign.

Joining Doyle on his City Transition Team are: Jim McCreight, long-time Beaverton civic leader and past president of the Beaverton Arts Commission; Steve Thompson, commercial real estate broker; Jim Rauh, strategic communications consultant; Warren Smalley, business internet consultant; and Lorraine Clarno, president/ceo of the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce.

"It's an exciting time in city government," said Doyle. "There's a diverse cross-section of the community that wants solutions to the issues I addressed in my run for office. I didn't win the race alone, so it makes good sense to forge the same team approach so we can hit the ground running come January."

Doyle focused his campaign on government accountability, improved outreach to citizens and business, responsible financial management, identifying and building a new downtown and generating a more positive overall perception of Beaverton.

In the May election, Doyle garnered 55 per cent of the vote, thus toppling four-term incumbent Rob Drake. Doyle's term in office is set to commence on January 1st.
